The Makaira spinning reels feature forged, machine cut stainless steel main gear and 17-4 stainless steel pinion gear. This gearing is not like any other reels in this category. These reels also have forged machine cut bodies, sideplates, and rotor. There are no die casting aluminum parts on these reels. These reels are engineered to hold up in the most severe saltwater conditions, with 23 different oil retaining o-rings and gaskets. All internal mechanisms on these reels are sealed and protected from the salty elements. These reels are perfect for targeting big game fish such as Trevally, Yellowtail, Amberjack, Bluefin Tuna, Marlin, large sharks and many more.
